Cops raid nightclub in KL, issue compound notices to 21 people

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have issued compound notices amounting to RM21,000 to customers and workers at a nightclub on Jalan Ampang here on Friday (March 18).

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Habibi Majinji said the compound notices were issued for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).

“Seventeen customers and four workers were issued with RM1,000 compound notices each.

“They were in violation of the Covid-19 SOP for being involved in activities at an entertainment outlet,” he said on Saturday (March 19).

SAC Habibi urged the public to adhere to the SOP to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“We need the cooperation of the public to stop the virus from spreading further.

“Such operations will be stepped up to ensure action is taken against those who fail to comply with the SOP,” he added.
