WhatsApp Is Reportedly Working On Group Polls

WhatsApp Chat Feature

Do you ever just have non-ending arguments in your groups about where to eat or what trip to go on? Well, WhatsApp may soon have a solution to these issues using the power of democracy, but it might be a while before you can use it.

According to the ever-reliable WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is reportedly developing a way to include polls in chat groups. The feature will let you create questions to be answered by the members of your group, introducing the element of voting into the mix to solve disputes or just get to know everyone’s opinion on something in an efficient manner.

Details about the feature are scarce at the moment, as it is still under development and hasn’t even officially reached beta users yet. One aspect that WABetaInfo claims it has is end-to-end encryption for the polls and the answers, meaning only your specific group can see the results.

There’s no telling how long it could take before users can get their hands on the feature, but for reference, the recent default disappearing message option took two months to be officially rolled out after first being released to beta users, while it took three months for encrypted backups to get from beta to regular users.
