MASwings to increase flights to Limbang for Raya following high demand

KUCHING: MASwings will increase its frequency of flights into Limbang for Hari Raya following a rise in demand for seats to the northern Sarawakian town.

With the easing of travel standard operating procedures (SOP) within Sarawak, the airline said it had seen an influx of advance bookings for flights to Limbang from April 28 to May 9.

To meet the demand, MASwings will add six weekly flights on the Kuching-Limbang route from April 29 to May 9, while the Miri-Limbang sector will see 12 more flights weekly between April 28 and May 9.

It currently flies three times a week from Kuching to Limbang and 28 times weekly between Miri and Limbang.

“We are excited to mount the additional services into Limbang to meet the projected surge with Hari Raya Aidilfitri coming,” MASwings chief operating officer Nasaruddin A Bakar (pic) said in a statement on Thursday (April 21).

He said the services will be operated on the ATR 72-500 aircraft with one-way fares starting from RM147, inclusive of taxes and 20kg check-in baggage allowance.

“MASwings, being an airline for the people in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, is committed to providing good and safe connectivity to meet the travel needs of the local communities, especially during festive seasons,” he added.

The planned additional flights are available for booking via the MASwings and Malaysia Airlines websites, ticket offices and appointed travel agents.

The airline’s ticket offices in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan are open daily from 8am to 5pm.

Customers can also call the toll-free lines at 1 300 88 3000 and +60 7843 3000 (from outside Malaysia) for assistance.
