Redmi Pad SE Receives SIRIM Certification; Local Launch Imminent

Redmi has been rumoured to be in the midst of preparing the launch of a new tablet that will follow up the original Pad that was released last year. It was previously rumoured that it would be dubbed as the Pad 2 but more recently, it was reported that the brand’s upcoming tablet would be called the Pad SE.

While the company has not officially announced anything regarding this product, it has already been spotted with several global certifications. And now, we’ve found that the Pad SE has also received SIRIM certification, listed on 7 July 2023 with the model number 23073RPBFG.

Some leaked specs purport that it will sport a 10 or 11-inch LD display with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Running everything will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, a downgrade from its predecessor, and it will be paired with LPDDR4x RAM, although the exact configurations will likely vary by market. Powering the tablet could be an 8,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. Alleged renders have claimed that it will also get four speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

It is speculated that the Pad SE will be launched in China on 14 August alongside the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, and the Redmi K60 Ultra. While we don’t know when exactly it will be available here, its listing on SIRIM indicates that it will eventually be making its way to the Malaysian market.
