CNN Plus Streaming Service To Launch On 29 March

The renowned global news channel CNN has announced that it will be launching a new streaming service called CNN+ on 29 March. The service was first announced last July and the company is now offering a special deal to early adopters.

CNN+ will be priced at US$5.99 (~RM26) per month or US$59.99 (~RM252) per year, but those who sign up within the first four weeks of its launch and maintain their subscription will receive a lifetime 50% discount. It will offer three types of content: live, on-demand, and interactive programming, with eight to 12 hours of live news daily.

The service will include new shows that are going to feature some of the network’s familiar faces such as Christiane Amanpour and Anderson Cooper. In addition to that, subscribers will also have access to CNN’s archive of original series and films including the famed Parts Unknown series which is one of the most well-known works by the late chef Anthony Bourdain.

The streaming service will not be in a separate app, but rather, subscribers will be able to access it on the existing CNN app. CNN Worldwide chief digital officer Andrew Morse has stressed that CNN+ will not have advertisements at launch.

However, the service will only be available in the US for the first few months but the company is working to expand CNN+ worldwide according to Morse.
