ROS should investigate Larry Sng’s legitimacy as PBM president

PETALING JAYA: The Registrar of Societies (ROS) should investigate Datuk Larry Sng’s legitimacy to lead Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) as president, said party deputy president Haniza Talha (pic).

Haniza said former Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin was the rightful PBM president, as the party had decided this during its annual general assembly.

“Me and my friends in the leadership fully reject Sng’s leadership as party president. We urge the RoS to investigate Sng’s legitimacy as party president after the AGM decided that Zuraida should take over the position,” said Haniza in a statement on Monday (Dec 26).

On Oct 30, Haniza had said that Zuraida was supposed to be the PBM president, as it was announced during the party’s general assembly on Oct 7.

Haniza said party matters are currently uncertain as Sng refused to abide by the agreement and mandate decided by PBM members in its AGM in October.

“This causes confusion among leaders and party members,” added Haniza.

Haniza also claimed that prior to the 15th General Election (GE15) on Nov 19, Sng had used the “surat watikah” appointment letters to threaten the PBM leadership.

After GE15 ended, Haniza also alleged that Sng cooperated with the unity government without any discussions with party members.

“His immaturity was publicly watched through Facebook, and he also ‘sulked’ when his name was not listed in the Cabinet lineup announced by the Prime Minister recently.

“This clearly shows that Sng does not think of the party members’ wishes and he only acts for his personal gain,” said the Lembah Jaya assemblyman.

Haniza also said Sng only used PBM as a stepping stone to get influence and position at a national level.

“He does not display qualities held by PBM for the advancement of all races in Malaysia,” added Haniza.

The continuing political saga between PBM party leaders comes after Sng issued showcase letters to Zuraida and several PBM supreme council members for failing to attend a party meeting last week.

Sng said those who failed to respond by Monday (Dec 26) will be sacked from the party.

On Oct 28, Sng announced the suspension of Zuraida and 12 supreme council members for allegedly undermining the interests of the party and its leadership.

Sng also said he was still the PBM president and he never vacated the post for Zuraida.
