KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested six suspects and seized nearly RM400,000 worth of drugs in several raids here and in Selangor.

City Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief Asst Comm Jasmirol Jamaluddin said police conducted a series of raids on Thursday and Friday (April 14 and 15).

“We launched the first raid at 9.05pm on Thursday at a condominium along Jalan Putramas here and arrested two men and a woman. We also seized 1kg of syabu and 365g of ketamin.

“We then raided another condominium unit along Jalan Cendana and seized 54g of syabu and 5,150 Erimin 5 pills,” he told reporters on Monday (April 18).

He said police then conducted a raid at Taman Petaling Utama, Petaling Jaya where they arrested three men and seized 4.5kg of heroin.

“We then raided a condominium unit in the same area and seized 10.8kg of ganja, 2.1kg of heroin, 2.1kg of syabu and 3,000 Erimin 5 pills.

“We also raided another condominium at Taman Petaling and seized 1.7kg heroin and 11grams of ganja,” he said.

The six suspects were aged between 20 and 45.

ACP Jasmirol said investigations revealed that the group’s 43-year-old ringleader was among those arrested.

“We believe the group has been active for at least three months.

“The syndicate got its supply from a drug distribution ring in the Klang Valley.

“They had regular customers and sold the drugs at entertainment outlets, budget hotels as well as certain roadside locations in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

ACP Jasmirol said the drugs seized were worth an estimated RM386,757.

“We also seized RM2,780 in cash during the raids,” he said, adding that the suspects have all been remanded for seven days to help with the investigation.
