Bank manager killed after car crashes into lorry

TAMPIN: A 40-year-old bank manager was killed after his car crashed into a lorry parked along the road shoulder at km 22.5 Jalan Tampin-Gemas near here.

N. Arumugam from Taman Puteri Cheras in Selangor, was killed on the spot in the 2.30am accident near the Gemencheh Granite plant on Tuesday (Dec 7).

Tampin deputy police chief DSP Amieruddin Sariman said preliminary investigations showed that the victim was heading towards Gemas from Tampin, when the incident happened.

“We believed the victim lost control of his vehicle and ploughed into the lorry parked along the road shoulder.

“The victim’s remains were sent to the Tampin Hospital for post-mortem,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
