FWD 4 A Cause, a digital social initiative has been launched by FWD Takaful Berhad (FWD Takaful). The initiative will donate 10% from the total contribution of wakalah* fees to selected social enterprises or non-profit organisations (NGOs) with every participation of its online Takaful plan.
“We’re happy to be collaborating with Malaysia Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia), Mental Illness Awareness and Support Association (MIASA) and Arus Education Sdn Bhd (Arus Academy) for this initiative which allows Malaysians to support a cause close to their hearts,” said FWD Takaful’s Chief Executive Officer Salim Majid Zain. “Malaysians can now sign up for an online takaful protection plan and choose amongst these three organisations they’d like us to donate to.”
NGOs and social enterprises in Malaysia have been faced with fundraising challenges due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and nation-wide Movement Control Order (MCO). The number of volunteers who have been able to assist these organisations have also decreased to the MCO. This is why FWD Takaful has launched this initiative, to help these organisations support the communities under their purview.
“We developed FWD 4 A Cause based on our vision to change the way people feel about takaful as it’s a simple way of giving back to the community through a digital social initiative,” Salim added.
To participate in this initiative and support a cause through any of the FWD Takaful online plans, may key in the dedicated promo code according to their preferred organisation during the sign-up process.
