Sarawak Polls: Telang Usan sees a four-cornered fight

KUCHING: It will be a four-cornered fight for Telang Usan incumbent Dennis Ngau in the state polls.

This time around, he will be squaring it off with Parti Bumi Kenyalang’s Gia Bala, Philip Jau of PKR and Jau Jok@Jenggo from Parti Sarawak Bersatu.

Dennis has served Telang Usan for two terms, having won the seat for the first time in 2011 with a 845 majority.

In 2016, he retained his seat by winning with a slim majority of 167 votes.

The contest for the set of Baleh will also be a four-cornered fight.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak has fielded newcomer Nicholas Kudi Jantai to face Kenneth Usang George representing DAP and two other candidates.

They are Sukarno Layau Mayau, the candidate for PKB and Koh Kumbong of PSB.

The seat was held by Parti Rakyat Sarawak president Tan Sri James Masing who passed away on Oct 31.

Nicholas is Masing’s nephew.
