Floods: Education Ministry to issue statement on school situation soon

CYBERJAYA: The Education Ministry will issue a statement soon on school operations following the floods which have hit many parts of the country.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon (pic) said the ministry “had a lengthy discussion” on Thursday (Dec 23).

“We are very concerned over the devastation the floods have caused. We realise that many schools are being cleaned and used as relief centres for flood victims. There are teachers and students too who have gone to the ground to help as well,” he said.

“We have taken these factors into consideration and as such, either the ministry or Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin will issue a statement soon,” added Mah when speaking to reporters after launching the Huawei Malaysia ICT Knowledge Corridor on Friday (Dec 24).

The third term of the 2021/2022 school session is scheduled for Jan 2 until March 20.
