AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Retail Packaging Renders Leak

AMD’s grand launch of its Ryzen 7000 Series processors is just around the corner, and as these things go, the frequency in which the leaks and rumours around the subject will inevitably increase. On that note, the latest leak revolving around the processor lineup appears to be its new packaging.

According to Videocardz, the leak appears to have been picked out from an internal presentation, intended for the eyes of the people working in AMD only. It is only a render, but all things considered, the new Ryzen 7000 series retail packaging and its mostly dark steel gray design looks sleeker and more enticing than what the current design looks like.

One thing to bear in mind about this new packaging is that this is specifically for the Ryzen 9 SKUs of the 7000 series, meaning that look and design for the Ryzen 7 and 5 series may end up looking slightly different.

For that matter, and based on the dimensions of this box, it is likely that the Ryzen 9 7000 series SKUs could ship out with just the CPU itself and without a reference cooler. If that were to be the case, we can expect the Ryzen 5 SKUs to be the ones that will ship out with both processor and an accompanying cooler.

Another detail that followed the leaked packaging design was the alleged pricing of some CPUs. Apparently, the Ryzen 7000 series’ price tags will not be too far off from what AMD is charging for its 5000 series, with the only exceptions being the higher-tier SKUs.

To put it simply, the 7x00X’s MSRP will match the pricing of this generation’s current 5x00X, the 7800X with the 5800X, and so on and so forth. AMD is expected to properly and officially make its Ryzen 7000 series available from 15 September onwards.
