1.93% ahead of schedule! The training bund at the Batang Baram Delta for Miri Port has reached 310 meters.
Since the commencement of construction, the miri port training bund and dredging project at Batang Baram Delta in Miri, Sarawak—undertaken by the joint venture of Rimbun Prima Sdn Bhd and China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd—has been steadily progressing according to the established schedule. The project team has worked closely together and achieved significant advancements. Currently, the overall planned progress is 1.57% completed and the actual completion stands at 3.50%, 1.93% ahead of schedule. The annual plan for the training bund was to complete 300 meters, and the actual physical progress has reached 310 meters.
With the onset of the monsoon season, the project department will actively carry out a series of preparatory works to ensure smooth full-scale construction next year. During the monsoon period, the focus will be on the repair, maintenance, and modification of marine equipment such as geotextile laying vessels, positioning barges, stone barges, and excavators to provide sufficient equipment support. Additionally, the project plans to advance the stockpiling of stone materials to ensure an uninterrupted supply during next year’s construction period.
Located at the mouth of the Batang Baram, the project mainly includes two 6-kilometer sloping training bunds and 6 kilometers of estuary channel dredging. Upon completion, it will provide strong support for the subsequent development of the Miri Deepsea Port and bring economic benefits to multiple sectors in Sarawak.
